Educ 560

     Attending the EDUC 560 course was a marvelous experience, a full packaged one that contains all the technological aids and apps that a teacher will surely find useful to apply in her classes and through her lessons. In this page, I will go through all what we have taken and highlight some how on the aspects that I found good to use.
   The most important thing that I learned is that you can do a lot of things through the google apps which is found in the gmail. First of all we have the drive, where you can save all your work and don't worry if you have to fix your laptop and loose all your work; and also you can share your work with others colleagues or classmates. Then, we were introduced to the google forms where you can create a survey and share it with the people that meet the interest of or survey.  Though the google forms and docs, the teacher can prepare an exam and have students do it online. More over, in the google apps we have the google slides which one can use like the power point. But the google slides has one advantages over the power point. If one is working on a presentation in a group, one person can share it on the google drive and have all participants in the presentation work on it at the same time while each person sitting in his/her house. they don't have to meet in the same place to meet.

  Another thing we were introduced to in this course was the posters. Those the teacher could use in meeting. seminars ..... where she presents ideas, maybe new apps to other colleagues. The blogger is one interesting app. It is similar to facebook, but what makes it special some how is that it is not popular as facebook. You can control the comments you receive, where you decide to publish it or hide it. You can write the post save it and then publish it whenever you wish.

 The WebQuest is something new that I learned and surely will be used in my teaching career in the future. We designed it through it through the google sites. The teacher can get students involved in a project that they will surely enjoy. In the webQuest the teacher will lead students step by step through songs, website links, ... to come up with a presentation on some specific topic or maybe writing about it. Through the webQuest, we were introduced to two apps that that teacher can use in such projects to have students get more involved through sharing their ideas and thoughts or even answering some specific questions through the padlet and the pollev.

The active inspire wasn't new for me, since i was introduced to it in a private work shop I have attended five years at college saint jean where I used used to each then. Active inspire is a rich program that is specifically designed for the teachers' needs. It contains lots of useful serves that when used appropriately help the teachers to present  magical interactive lessons to the students. Some of these are the magic ink, spotlight, reveler, container, matching, ....

The Pucha Kutcha is a kind of presentation with google slides where the presenter sets time for his presentation, where he/ she should start and finish each slide on time. It feels fun while presenting.

Finally, the VCT project is one big project which the student will find appealing and fun to do. It is like the webquest but deeper and involves more steps. The teacher can use all the apps and programs that were introduced in this course; from the google apps, to the power point, micro soft documents, web site links of videos or songs; moving to quizlet where the teacher can prepare a quiz for students to do online. Finally in the VCT, we got introduced to mind mapping through the mind meister. through this application, the teacher shares a main topic with the students and have them add their thoughts and ideas related to this topic and even they can add sub ideas to their main one. They even get to share it with others,

I hope that I haven't forgot anything or detail we went through in this course. It is marvelous rich course to an extent that at the end, when finishing and getting done with all the tasks you feel overwhelmed and over tired. :)
